Why is the barcode scanner missing on the iPhone 2G and 3G?
Key Ring's iPhone barcode scanner is only designed to work on devices that support close focal length cameras. Currently only the 3Gs supports close focal length scanning. There are other barcode scanning apps that support 2G and 3G devices, however they only support UPC and EAN "product" barcode types. Loyalty cards use mutiple barcode types types such EAN, UPC, CODE128, and CODE39 thus using the occipital barcode scanning library is currently not an option. We are investigation other solutions though... stay tuned.
Why are some barcodes and/or logos missing?
If you have an account, simply select the sync button and your cards will be restored. If you don't have an account, create one and then select sync and your barcodes should be restored. Wait a minute before accessing your cards. Depending on your data connection it can take a minute to download all the logos and barcodes.
Why won't my barcode scan at the store?
There are 3 main variables that will impact the barcode scanning success rate at the point of sale. 1. The type of scanner being used. Most handheld scanners work well, but flatbeds will not. 2. The type of phone screen. Not all phone screens are equal. For example, the same barcode may scan very easily from an iPhone screen, but may not scan from a Droid screen. It depends on the device. 3. Follow the tips. If you follow the scanning tips in the app this should help. If your barcode won't scan, have cashier type in the number. It beats carrying around all those cards!
Why does scanning fail with flat bed scanners?
Simply put, there is too much interference when scanning from the phone screen. Handheld scanners work because you can direct the laser very precisely. With flatbeds you do not have that luxury. If we could make them work reliably, we would!
Can I restore/transfer my cards from an android to an iPhone or vice versa?
You sure can! Key Ring is the only app of this kind that allows you to seamlessly transfer your cards from one phone to the next. All you need to do is set up an account. You can set up an account at anytime.

Why do I keep getting "package not signed correctly" when trying to update Key Ring on my android device?
Most likely you originally installed Key Ring from the amazon app store. Unfortunately you can't download updates from one store to the next. You can either wait for the updated version of Key Ring to be available in the amazon app store or you can uninstall Key Ring and then re-install the android market version. IMPORTANT: Make sure you have an account before you uninstall Key Ring that way you can log back into your account and instantly restore your cards.
Why is the widget missing?
If you move the app to the SD card then the widget will automatically be removed. If you move the app back to your phone then the widget will be available.
